Boredom + Friend suggestion of what to draw = robot raptor. Well, the conversation went more of "I'm bored what should I draw?"A raptor, no! A robot raptor! The most feared predator on the planet, well atleast the land. A robotic shark would be the most feared in water. Unless it was a Robot Raptor that could transform into a robot shark!" "...I'll stick with the raptor." Update on the film pilot, everyone loved it. One girl told me she wish it really could be turned into a TV series, because she'd watch it. Teacher liked it a lot too. Either way...
Well, it's been a long while. So, I haven't drawn anything in a while, er, posted I should say, I have been working on the HBoND comic thing. Out of twenty pages I have all the panels drawn, 10 outlines done, 6 pages drawn and 2 pages completed. Over the summer JC penny began to suck out my soul about the time I decided to do it so I really didn't start drawing them until about a week ago. Either way, this post isn't the completed page, I think I'd want to post the first 2-4 pages rather than one at a time, then again maybe one a week will keep me drawing and completing them, even though this is for my own entertainment/benefit/satisfaction/practice. Idk.
Either way, this is the real drawing I'm posting. For my writing for media class we have to make a screenplay for either a short narrative film, corporate video, or the the pilot episode of a TV drama. I chose the last. See, I was all freaking out that our teacher wanted our concepts this early when it's not due till december and I had no idea what I wanted to do. Then, I began to listen to Apocalyptica's song "Stroke" and it came to me, sorta anyway. Almost stealing from another idea but not. Either way, my log-line is :
After a psychotic episode during an interview, a greedy publicist asks a little known psychiatrist to help his client, the nation’s best selling novelist who draws inspiration from his own hundreds of schizophrenic hallucinations. The writer is haunted by his illness but is reluctant to take regular medication or seek help as his paranoia convinces him he will be put into an asylum or on the streets if he quits writing. The psychiatrist must help the writer overcome his paranoia and anxiety of his hallucinations which cause his novels to become darker and darker as his mental illness begins to spiral out of control.
I hope that's clear enough. So far everyone I've told about liked it. I still have to kinda think of an overall plot since this is a concept. I have to condense this to a pitch which has to be three lines. Now idk if that means literally three lines or if that means three sentences. If sentences then I shall just use my log line since you're not supposed to give out plot details in a pitch anyway. If anyone wants to see opening (All four of you) I've already written in, not in screenplay form but it's written.
So, back to the picture. This is one of the writer's most prevalent hallucinations. She and a couple others usually pop up the majority of the time. I will color her later though. Hope my teacher doesn't think my concept is too complicated.
Final of that page. I think if I wasn't so distracted or lived by myself or at least was able to lock myself in a room for a few hours then I would have completed it faster. Eitherway the final of the page from the last post. I made all the panels for the other pages and it came out to be twenty. A loooot more than expected but hopefully I can complete it. No wonder graphic novelists have a million people working on it. Just click on it to zoom.
So, it's been a while since I posted. For my birthday I got the Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Fox and the Hound. Yay! So I felt like drawing and I decided to practice on such movies. So here are the results since May 16ish. Or whenever I started to draw these. Whenever finals ended.
Cover of the DVD
Baby Tod 13 mins to draw Chicken! 30 Mins Baby Copper on top and sad copper both about 12 minutes to draw Tod and Boomer 33 mins Frollo on the evil horse Clopin and Puppet

So I decided that instead of first making a story into a graphic novel I'd first try out a movie because 1) the picture is already draw so even though sometimes you have to improvise you at least know what to do and 2) just to get the feel of the flow between pages since a single page comic won't do so. So I decided to try out with a few songs in the Hunchback of Notre Dame and since HND is so city orientated I might go and do a scene or so from the Fox and the Hound since it's more nature orientated. Now I only have 4 pages done but just to show what I'm doing and because this page is the one I'll post up step by step I guess here is the first page I drew for the Graphic Novel
Things I learned from the first four pages. 1) Use a ruler to make the panel lines. I didn't feel like searching for one so I free handed and well, you can see where I had to go back to and re draw a few lines. 2) for very detailed things such as the catherdral that shows up three times within the first four pages should be draw on a different sheet of paper and just layered in the digital phase if it's viewed in the same angle. I drew the catherdral. Then I went to do it again and quickly grew tired because the first one took me about an hour or so. Yeah, can;t think of anything else at the moment but yeah this was the first page I drew. I place in the bubbles and speech in GIMP unless the bubble is yelled or something then I'll draw it. Once I get the rest of the pages drawn and inked annd toned I'll put it in order so you can see and I can get feed back. If you listen to the song "The Bells of Notre Dame" and wait for the part that Clopin say "Who is this creature?" That's when the pages starts and ends at "And a monster..." That's supposed to be a fade out thing at the bottom. The first bar is a dull gray then the bottom is a black. Like a transition in video where it fades to black. Either way. Back to drawing. I have another that I need to ink that has nothing to do with Disney. But that is for a later day. Either way...
All right so I decided to color it last night instead of reading. Took me about 3 and a half hours. I recorded myself coloring it but Xanga won't upload it bleh. I condenced it to ten minutes.
Either way one more thing, although it's a Christmas song I've been obsessed with this song called "Red Snow" by Psychostick, It's about Rudolf going crazy and killing everyone yay! So I drew this in my government notes today. I thought it was pretty decent without looking at any references.
Since my handwriting is chicken scratch it says around him the chorus of the song, "My name is Rudolf. I am the saddest reindeer alive. But I'm gonna take control I' taking over the north poll. I might be smaller but I'm the meanest reindeer alive. Until I exact revenge I'm never saving christmas again." I want to make a colored picture of this, a better one! But we'll see when that happens. Either way.
